The development of Signature Shreds began shortly after Lactalis’s acquisition, taking approximately two years to perfect the unique formulation of the shredded cheese. The rise of at-home cooking, particularly during the peak of the pandemic when 88% of U.S. consumers were cooking more at home, was a key driving force behind this innovation. Point-of-sales data firm Circana reported that consumer preferences have shifted towards at-home dining, with 86% of meals being prepared in households compared to 83% in 2019.
