The Success Story of Grupo Xcaret: A Dominant Force in Riviera Maya

Grupo Xcaret has established itself as a dominant force in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico with its six ecoparks, three all-inclusive properties, tour operations, and boat transportation services. One of their latest innovations is the Xcaret Agents Pro Booking platform, a dedicated tool designed to simplify the hotel reservation process for travel advisors. In this article, we will delve deeper into the success story of Grupo Xcaret and analyze their recent developments.

Building on Existing Tools

The launch of Xcaret Agents Pro Booking is a significant step for Grupo Xcaret in enhancing the tools available for travel advisors. According to Rodrigo Motavelazco, sales director for Grupo Xcaret’s Hoteles Xcaret, the platform complements their existing Xcaret Sales Network, which was initiated around 10 years ago. This new hotel tool provides an easier way for agents to access real-time availability and rates for all categories across the group’s properties, namely Hotel Xcaret Mexico, Hotel Xcaret Arte, and La Casa de la Playa. Furthermore, the platform consolidates all educational and marketing resources in one place, laying the foundation for a comprehensive one-stop shop for agents to access the entire portfolio of tours, parks, hotels, and other products.

While it is challenging to quantify the exact percentage, approximately 50% of Grupo Xcaret’s business comes from travel agents across various channels. Whether through tour operators, OTAs, or bed banks, travel agents play a crucial role in driving sales for the group. This highlights the importance of fostering strong relationships with advisors and providing them with the necessary tools to facilitate bookings seamlessly.

The group’s recent openings of Hotel Xcaret Arte and La Casa de la Playa in 2021 have been met with success. Hotel Xcaret Arte, boasting 900 rooms, has seen remarkable performance on the group side, making it an attractive choice for conferences, presentations, and incentive travel. The All-Fun Inclusive concept, which offers access to all the parks and tours provided by Xcaret Group, further enhances the appeal of the property. On the other hand, La Casa de la Playa, with its 63 suites and private beach, has garnered attention from celebrities seeking tranquility, exclusivity, and high-end service.

Looking ahead, Grupo Xcaret has ambitious plans for its flagship property, Hotel Xcaret Mexico. The group is in the process of adding another 900 rooms, with an expected completion by fall of next year. Additionally, 10 new restaurants will be introduced, along with enhanced entertainment options and new experiences catering to young teens and kids. Renovations are also underway to revamp the existing room inventory, aiming for a total of 1,800 new or renovated rooms by fall 2025. Furthermore, the exposition and convention space at Xcaret Mexico are set to be nearly doubled to accommodate the growing demand for larger groups, including buyouts for corporate events, sales conventions, product launches, and incentive trips.

Grupo Xcaret’s innovative approach to hospitality and tourism has solidified its position as a dominant force in the Riviera Maya region. The launch of Xcaret Agents Pro Booking and the success of new properties signal a bright future for the group as they continue to expand and enhance their offerings to cater to the evolving needs of travelers and advisors alike.
