Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants is set to expand its presence in Mexico with the opening of the Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa in Todos Santos, on Mexico’s Baja peninsula. This will mark the brand’s third property in Mexico, following the successful debut of the Kimpton hotel in Mexico City.
The Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa is a reflagged property that was formerly known as the Rancho Pescadero resort, which was part of the Hyatt Hotels Corp.’s Unbound Collection. The property temporarily ceased operations last year after a tragic incident involving two U.S. guests. Highgate will now take over the operation of the resort, with plans to open on April 1.
With 103 rooms, including 12 villas, the Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa promises a luxurious experience for its guests. The resort will feature three restaurants and bars, four outdoor pools, a 25,000-square-foot spa, and state-of-the-art fitness facilities. The culinary offerings at the resort will include a signature restaurant called Kahal, offering locally inspired cuisine and a raw bar, a garden-focused concept named Botanica, and a casual Mexican fare spot called Centro.
Kimpton’s foray into the Mexican market does not stop here. The brand has announced its plans to open another property in Playa del Carmen, the Kimpton Hacienda Tres Rios Resort, Spa & Nature Park. This upcoming resort will also mark a significant milestone for Kimpton as it will be the brand’s first all-inclusive resort.
The opening of the Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa is a significant event for both the brand and the hospitality industry in Mexico. With its luxurious amenities, unique culinary offerings, and commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, the resort is poised to become a sought-after destination for travelers seeking a premium hospitality experience in Todos Santos. Kimpton’s continued expansion into the Mexican market further solidifies its position as a leading player in the luxury and lifestyle hospitality sector.
