Domaine Carneros, a renowned sparkling wine producer in the Napa Valley, has taken a bold step towards sustainability by introducing its 2023 Avant Garde Pinot Noir Rose, powered by a new microgrid system. The estate made history by being one of the first wineries in Napa Valley to implement this innovative technology. The microgrid is connected to a cutting-edge battery system that can store energy to offset peak energy demands and be utilized during off-peak hours. CEO Remi Cohen proudly states that the microgrid can supply 75% of the winery’s energy needs, providing an independent power source during natural disasters. This initiative not only reduces the winery’s carbon footprint but also ensures a reliable energy supply in times of crisis.

Terrazas de los Andes, a prominent high-altitude winery in Mendoza, has achieved Regenerative Organic Certified status for 213 acres of vineyards and the winery itself. This prestigious certification highlights the winery’s commitment to responsible farming practices and environmental conservation. Director Lucas Löwi emphasizes the winery’s dedication to the well-being of the environment, community, and future generations. In France’s Rhône Valley, Jean-Luc Colombo is leading the way in supporting bee health through the Bee Helpful Program. By eliminating harsh pesticides and promoting biodiversity in vineyards, the winemaker aims to enhance pollination and protect bee populations. A portion of sales from the Les Abeilles wine label goes towards funding research in honeybee colony restoration at the UC-Davis Department of Entomology. Banfi, in collaboration with the Rodale Institute, has pledged to donate 1% of total U.S. Naturawine sales to 1% For The Planet.
