The Department of Transportation has recently announced new regulations aimed at expanding the circumstances in which air passengers are entitled to a refund for their tickets. These include changes to the arrival or departure airport, the addition of a connection point to the itinerary, cases where passengers are downgraded to a lower seating class, and situations where an aircraft change downgrades the plane’s available amenities. Additionally, baggage delayed by certain durations will also trigger refund requirements, providing passengers with greater protection and compensation.
