The Transformation of the Mirage Hotel & Casino into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

The Mirage Hotel & Casino, a longstanding staple on the Las Vegas Strip, is set to close its doors on July 17, marking the beginning of its transformation into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas. This change comes after Hard Rock took control of the Mirage in December 2022, following its $1.1 billion acquisition from MGM Resorts International. Despite operating as the Mirage since the acquisition, the property will now undergo extensive renovations to align with the Hard Rock brand.

One of the most prominent features of the upcoming Hard Rock Las Vegas is the nearly 700-foot guitar-shaped hotel tower that will replace the Mirage’s iconic volcano. This innovative design is set to redefine the Las Vegas skyline and establish the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino as a must-visit destination for music and entertainment enthusiasts. With an expected opening date in spring 2027, the new integrated resort promises a unique and immersive experience for guests.

Guests with room reservations or show tickets beyond July 14 will find their bookings automatically canceled, including those made through third-party platforms. Direct bookings will be promptly refunded, with deposits expected to be returned within seven to 10 days. For reservations made through online travel agencies, refunds will be processed in accordance with OTA policies. Additionally, all hotel guests are advised to modify their bookings to ensure departure on or before July 15. While the hotel undergoes renovations, the Hard Rock Café on the Las Vegas Strip will remain open to patrons.

Since its grand opening in 1989, the Mirage Hotel & Casino has been a popular destination for visitors seeking a unique and luxurious Las Vegas experience. Acquired by MGM Resorts International in 2000, the 3,044-key property has established itself as a premier resort on the Strip. As the Mirage prepares to transition into the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, guests can look forward to a new era of entertainment and hospitality in the heart of Sin City.
