American Cruise Lines Expanding Fleet with Three New Ships

In an exciting development, American Cruise Lines has announced plans to add three more ships to its fleet by the end of 2026. This expansion will include two vessels as part of the Project Blue series of coastal ships and one modern American riverboat.

The Project Blue series, which debuted last summer with the American Eagle, has been a successful addition to the American Cruise Lines fleet. These 100-passenger Coastal Cats are specially designed for sailing coastal waters and inland waterways. Following the American Eagle, the American Glory was introduced last November, with two additional Coastal Cats – American Liberty and American Legend – slated to enter service later this year.

In 2025, a new class of Project Blue ships called the Patriot class will make its debut. These ships will be larger than the Coastal Cats, accommodating 125 passengers each. The first two ships in this class will be known as American Patriot and American Pioneer. It is worth noting that the details of the seventh and eighth Project Blue ships have not been disclosed by American Cruise Lines, leaving room for speculation about their potential design and features.

In addition to its Coastal Cats, American Cruise Lines operates a fleet of modern riverboats on various rivers across the United States. The company’s website lists the American Jazz, American Harmony, and American Song as the riverboats sailing the Columbia and Snake rivers. On the Mississippi River system, passengers can find the American Melody, American Serenade, and American Symphony, with the newest addition, the American Serenade, joining the fleet in April 2023. Furthermore, American Cruise Lines operates four paddlewheelers – American Heritage, American Splendor, American Pride, and American West – providing passengers with a variety of options for their river cruising adventures.

With plans to expand its fleet with three new ships by the end of 2026, American Cruise Lines continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing exceptional cruising experiences for passengers traveling along America’s coastlines and rivers. The addition of the seventh and eighth Project Blue ships, along with the continued growth of its riverboat collection, highlights the company’s dedication to innovation and excellence in the cruise industry.
