Exploring New York’s Trendy Ice Cream Treats

New York City is known for its iconic sandwiches and sweets, and now these traditional delicacies are being transformed into trendy ice cream treats. Russ & Daughters and Morgenstern’s, two iconic local brands, have joined forces to create a collection of unique frozen desserts inspired by some of the most beloved Russ & Daughters classics. The collaboration features a variety of innovative treats that are perfect for the summer season.

Among the new frozen desserts introduced by Russ & Daughters and Morgenstern’s are the Sesame Bagel Ice Cream Sandwich, the 5 Layer Halvah Ice Cream Bar, and the Chocolate Babka Ice Cream Pop. The Sesame Bagel Ice Cream Sandwich features a generous scoop of cream cheese ice cream sandwiched between two crispy sesame cookies, offering a delightful combination of sweet and savory flavors. The 5 Layer Halvah Ice Cream Bar is a gluten-free, plant-based treat inspired by Russ & Daughters’ classic 7 layer halvah, made with vegan chocolate and halvah ice cream, chocolate fudge, and dipped in dark chocolate. Lastly, the Chocolate Babka Ice Cream Pop is a decadent dessert made with Russ & Daughters’ iconic Chocolate Babka, coated in toasted Babka and dark chocolate dip.

These delightful frozen treats are priced at $8 each and are available at all Russ & Daughters retail locations as well as Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream. The collaboration will be available starting Tuesday, June 18th and will continue until the end of summer. Customers can find the treats at various locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, including Morgenstern’s at 88 W Houston St; Russ and Daughters at 179 E Houston St, 502 W 34th St, and 141 Flushing Ave Building 77, Brooklyn. Additionally, local delivery and pickup options are available for those who prefer to enjoy these delicious treats at home.

For those outside of New York City, the Russ & Daughters Ice Cream collection can be ordered for shipping via Morgenstern’s website. The $110 package includes two of each treat, shipped on dry ice on Tuesdays and delivered on Wednesdays. Customers can also add various ice cream cakes, pies, and pints to their online orders, allowing them to enjoy a wide selection of frozen treats from the comfort of their own home.

The collaboration between Russ & Daughters and Morgenstern’s is just one example of the innovative and creative ice cream flavors that are becoming popular in New York City this summer. Another trendy treat that has recently made its debut is the French Fry flavored frozen yogurt from 16 Handles. This limited edition flavor features bright yellow soft serve that tastes like crisp, salty fries, with real potato french fry pieces mixed in for a unique sweet and salty combination. The French Fry flavor is available at 16 Handles locations nationwide until mid-July, offering guests a fun and unexpected twist on traditional frozen yogurt flavors.

The culinary landscape of New York City is constantly evolving, with new and exciting ice cream treats being introduced to delight customers and satisfy their sweet cravings. Whether you prefer classic flavors or innovative combinations, there is something for everyone to enjoy in the vibrant and diverse ice cream scene of the Big Apple.
