Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Destiny, is set to make its debut in late 2025. This ship is set to introduce a one-of-a-kind dining experience that pays homage to the beloved movie, “The Lion King.” The restaurant, known as Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, will feature a savannah-inspired venue with depictions of animals and nature. Additionally, guests will be treated to performances of iconic songs from the movie such as “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata,” and a special mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” highlighting the dynamic between hero and villain in the story.
In addition to the unique dining experience, the Disney Destiny will also feature a sweet shop themed after another fan-favorite movie, “The Incredibles.” The shop, named Edna a la Mode Sweets, will mimic fashion designer Edna Mode’s lab where the superhero family’s costumes are made. Guests can expect a variety of handmade gelato, ice cream, cookies, candies, and specialty treats to satisfy their sweet tooth cravings.
The Disney Destiny will also offer guests a range of staterooms and suites designed to immerse them in the world of Disney. Concierge staterooms and suites will feature custom artwork depicting scenes from “Fantasia,” while a select few oceanview rooms will showcase iconography from “The Incredibles.” Additionally, Hero Suites on board will draw inspiration from Greco-Roman architecture, colors, and patterns, providing guests with a truly unique and magical experience during their stay.
The Disney Destiny is just one in a series of new ships that Disney Cruise Line has in store for the future. The 144,000-gross-ton Destiny will be powered by liquefied natural gas, setting a new standard for eco-friendly cruising. Following the launch of the Disney Destiny, the Disney Treasure is set to make its debut in December, with two more ships, the Disney Adventure and Destiny, planned for 2025.
