Critiquing Breeze Airways’ Distribution Deals

Breeze Airways recently announced its first distribution deal with the travel management company, AmTrav. This partnership comes as a significant move for the airline to improve its reach and accessibility to customers looking to book flights through various channels.

AmTrav, a prominent player in the travel management industry, ranked No. 42 on Travel Weekly’s Power List. With offices in major cities like Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, and Miami, AmTrav reported sales of $335.2 million in 2023. This collaboration allows AmTrav customers to book Breeze flights seamlessly through their app, providing real-time data and adherence to travel policies.

As part of the partnership, Breeze is launching an exclusive BreezeCorp bundle tailored for AmTrav customers. This bundle includes a fully flexible and refundable fare, a carry-on bag, and a standard seat assignment. Moreover, customers can change or cancel their bookings for free up to 60 minutes before departure using AmTrav’s Change Trips feature.

In addition to access to Breeze’s flight options, AmTrav customers have the opportunity to explore other bundles and upgrades. These optional upgrades include high-speed WiFi, premium seating options like Breeze Ascent, which offers additional amenities such as power outlets, complimentary snacks, and beverages. Customers will also earn BreezePoints for all purchases, enhancing their overall travel experience with the airline.

Apart from the deal with AmTrav, Breeze has expanded its distribution network by partnering with Expedia Group. Through this collaboration, Breeze flights are now available on Expedia Group websites, further increasing the airline’s visibility in the online travel market. Earlier, Breeze had secured a partnership with Priceline, marking its first deal with an online travel agency. Lukas Johnson, Breeze’s chief commercial officer, emphasizes that these partnerships are instrumental in driving the airline’s growth and meeting the diverse needs of leisure and business travelers.

Breeze Airways’ distribution deals with AmTrav and Expedia Group signal a strategic approach to enhance its market presence and cater to the evolving demands of travelers. By offering exclusive bundles, flexible booking options, and seamless connectivity through various channels, Breeze is positioning itself as a competitive player in the airline industry.
