Japan and Singapore emerged as the dominant countries on this year’s list, with nine restaurants from Japan and an equal number from Singapore making the cut. Surprisingly, China, being significantly larger in size compared to Singapore, only had 11 restaurants on the list, with six in Hong Kong, four in Shanghai, and one in Macao.
Despite its small size, Singapore has made its mark on the culinary scene with a total of nine restaurants on the list. Notable mentions include Odette, maintaining its position as the highest-ranking restaurant in Singapore at No. 10, followed by Burnt Ends at No. 15. Bangkok emerged as a prominent player with eight restaurants on the list, six of which secured positions in the top 20. Gaggan Anand at No. 3, Nusara at No. 6, and Suhring at No. 7 are among the top-ranked restaurants from Bangkok, emphasizing the city’s culinary prowess.
The “Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024” list includes restaurants from 19 cities in Asia, showcasing the rich and diverse culinary landscape of the continent. From Tokyo to Mumbai, Seoul to Jakarta, the list represents a wide range of culinary traditions and innovations.
