Carnival Cruise Line’s Celebration Key: A New Family Adventure Awaits

Celebration Key, the upcoming $500 million private beach destination by Carnival Cruise Line on Grand Bahama, is set to offer an array of engaging experiences for families. Among the attractions at Celebration Key is the family area known as Starfish Lagoon. This area will feature a freshwater pool, beach access, sports and gaming areas, and an assortment of waterslides, including the impressive Flash Flamingo and Mach III Marlin, each stretching over 350 feet in length. These waterslides will wind around the 10-story “Suncastle,” providing a thrilling experience for guests of all ages.

Families with young children will appreciate the Guppy Grotto splash pad at Starfish Lagoon. Designed with toddlers and small children in mind, this coral reef-themed splash pad includes a shallow pool, water toys, and interactive features. Additionally, parents can relax in shaded seating areas while their little ones play. For older kids and adults, the Game Pavilion will offer table games like foosball, ping pong, and cornhole, located near the Sports Court that will host activities such as volleyball, basketball, and pickleball.

Starfish Lagoon will also feature a selection of floating cabanas called AquaBanas, where groups of up to eight people can unwind together on the water. These cabanas include amenities such as non-slip surfaces, a table for drinks, and easy access to the lagoon. Guests can also enjoy traditional cabanas, daybeds, a swim-up bar, and hammocks near the Suncastle. The beach area will offer kayak and paddleboard rentals, sun loungers, umbrellas, and ample space for various beach activities.

In addition to the family-friendly amenities, Celebration Key will feature various dining options, including restaurants, snack and bar shacks, and Bahamian food trucks. Those looking for more active pursuits can head to the Sports Court, equipped with facilities for pickleball, volleyball, and basketball. Furthermore, Carnival Cruise Line plans to introduce four distinct areas within Celebration Key, known as portals, which will add to the overall experience of the destination.

As Carnival Cruise Line gears up for the opening of Celebration Key in July 2025, the company anticipates welcoming approximately 2.2 million visitors in its inaugural year, with a projected growth to 4 million guests by 2028. While details about an adults-only retreat at Celebration Key are still under wraps, the promise of a dynamic and engaging experience for families and individuals alike is evident. Celebration Key is poised to become a sought-after destination for those seeking a blend of relaxation, entertainment, and adventure in the idyllic setting of Grand Bahama.
