Multiple strains of Salmonella were also discovered at Bedner Growers, indicating their involvement.

Washing cucumbers thoroughly, cooking them when possible, and chilling them in the refrigerator are recommended steps to reduce the risk of illness. Additionally, cleaning all surfaces, utensils, and hands that come in contact with cucumbers is essential.

Symptoms of Salmonella infection, such as diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, can last for four to seven days and may require hospitalization in severe cases.
