According to Mulet, Playa’s success in the all-inclusive market can be attributed to its long-standing relationships with renowned brands such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Wyndham, and soon IHG Hotels & Resorts. By establishing itself as a preferred operator for these global brands, Playa has positioned itself as an expert in operating branded all-inclusive resorts. With a proven track record of success, Playa continues to lead the way in the industry, setting itself apart as a trusted and reliable partner for major hospitality brands.

Future Expansion Plans and Innovations

Looking ahead, Playa has ambitious plans for expansion and innovation in the all-inclusive space. The company is currently working on several new openings, with deals signed last year that will add approximately 1,500 rooms to its portfolio. Additionally, Playa is focused on co-creating new brands with its partners and introducing innovative concepts to the market. One of the highlights for this year is the upcoming opening of the first Kimpton all-inclusive resort on the Riviera Maya, marking Playa’s first management project for IHG.

In addition to the Kimpton project, Playa is also expanding its presence with three Wyndham Alltras properties already in operation, and one scheduled to open this year in Samana, Dominican Republic. Last year, the company signed another Wyndham Alltra in Punta Cana, further solidifying its commitment to growth and diversification in the all-inclusive segment.

Redefining Food and Beverage Experiences

As the all-inclusive market becomes increasingly competitive, Playa is staying ahead of the curve by continuously pushing the boundaries when it comes to food and beverage offerings. At properties like the Hyatt Ziva and Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic, Playa has been focused on elevating the culinary experience for guests. One of the standout additions is the Blind Butcher, a new restaurant and entertainment venue that was introduced at the end of last year.

The Blind Butcher concept is a unique dining experience that combines a dinner show with a speakeasy-style setting. Guests are transported back to the 1950s as they enter a butcher shop, only to discover a hidden restaurant behind a refrigerator door. The venue offers live music, dancing, and interactive performances, creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience for guests. This innovative concept has been well-received by visitors and has added an extra layer of excitement to Playa’s F&B offerings.
