The Expansion of Hyatt in New Orleans

Hyatt has recently increased its footprint in New Orleans with the announcement of two new hotels – Maison Metier and The Barnett. Maison Metier, previously known as Maison de la Luz, is set to become a part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection in the upcoming year. On the other hand, The Barnett, formerly the Ace Hotel New Orleans, is scheduled to join the JdV by Hyatt collection in 2024. Both properties are conveniently located on Carondelet Street, just a stone’s throw away from Lafayette Square.

Maison Metier, housed in a historic 1908 building, exudes an ambiance reminiscent of a luxurious Parisian guesthouse. The hotel boasts a salon-style bar called Bar Marilou, adding a touch of sophistication to its overall design. On the other hand, The Barnett pays tribute to its roots as Barnett’s Furniture Store, infusing art deco and French modernism elements into the vibrant Warehouse District of New Orleans.

Culinary Offerings and Entertainment Options

As part of the rebranding process, both Maison Metier and The Barnett will introduce new dining and entertainment concepts. Josephine Estelle, an Italian restaurant, will grace the corridors of The Barnett, offering guests a unique culinary experience. Meanwhile, Maison Metier will feature a rooftop and pool bar named Alto, along with a lively music venue known as Three Keys. Seaworthy, the renowned restaurant under the Domain Cos. umbrella, will continue to operate at The Barnett with its established brand and culinary leadership.

The new additions to Hyatt’s portfolio in New Orleans stem from the successful partnership between Domain Cos. and Ace Group International. Together, they launched the 234-room Ace Hotel in 2016, which was well-received by locals and tourists alike. Building on this success, Maison de la Luz was unveiled three years later, further solidifying their presence in the vibrant city of New Orleans.

With the addition of Maison Metier and The Barnett, Hyatt is expanding its offerings and diversifying its presence in New Orleans. These new properties not only enhance the city’s hospitality landscape but also provide guests with unique and immersive experiences that showcase the rich history and culture of New Orleans. The collaboration between Domain Cos. and Ace Group International has proven to be fruitful, paving the way for further growth and development in this dynamic market.
